Green Chile Bike Bank collects donated bicycles, repairs them, and distributes them to community members in need. Our goal is to increase access to affordable transportation, reduce environmental impact, and foster community connections through bike programs.

Since our founding, we’ve provided hundreds of bikes to individuals who rely on them for commuting, school, and recreation—making mobility accessible and sustainable for everyone.

Our entirely volunteer-run organization collects donated bikes to provide mobility solutions for those in need, promoting access and sustainability in our communities.

We are proud to live and work in a community so filled with resources and resourceful people as Pueblo. We are a mixture of people born and raised here and those arrived more recently, but we are all glad to call it home. Our efforts to build up the community are part of that appreciation.

  • We need bikes!

Our workshop has been such a success that we’ve worked through our backlog of bikes this winter – this is a great problem to have, since that means they’re out in the community now, helping people get around.

That means we need you! (and your bikes)

As we get into spring cleaning season, please consider donating any bikes that are going unused. We have a continual need for adult bikes, especially mountain bikes. They are endlessly rebuildable, and provide reliable transportation for our neighbors here in Pueblo. Parts, tubes, tires and other bike-related odds and ends also help us in our mission. At this time, we do not need any children’s bikes.

Donations can be dropped off anytime during normal business hours at Great Divide on 4th and Santa Fe, or on Wednesday nights from 6-9pm at our workshop, 807 N Greenwood.

Thank you for your continued support!

  • We have a workshop for the winter!

With your help we have rented a workspace. This will help us to keep meeting Pueblo’s need for reliable bike transportation even as the weather turns. Without a space, our work would slow down tremendously in the winter months.

We have partnered with the nonprofit Access Point to rent a portion of their building. We are paid up through April ’22 but would like to stay in the space as time goes on. See Our Needs for how to help us do so!

Our humble new workspace. With it we are able to turn out 3-4 restored bikes and a few repairs each week, as well as host roll-up repairs for our bike community.
